Mikhail has traveled and performed widely in Russia, Japan and western Europe. He has a large and diverse repertoire which includes all the piano works of Rachmaninov.

Critics pointed out that his performance “marked with spirituality, nobility, virtuosic technique”, “I could feel the Russian cold and at the same time a kind tone”, “In Rachmaninov`s complex textures the difficulty is not felt and all the melodic lines are transparently heard, subtly performed in his own way” .

From 2001 he has lived in Japan. Together with well-known great compositions, as a life work he performs and records lesser known masterpieces of Russian music to show them to the world.  His 7 CDs include piano works by Rachmaninov, Scriabin, Chopin, Liszt, Glinka, Balakirev, Borodin, Liadov, Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov.
